Monaco is undergoing an exciting cultural
and tourist transformation, ensuring an improved experience for residents and
visitors with attractive new amenities.
Luxury food hall at La Condamine Market
The beating heart of Monaco’s most authentic district, La Condamine
Market is all set for a radical facelift, and is due to close temporarily
in January 2026 for modernisation work. The aim is to preserve
the area’s convivial feel while ensuring improved levels of comfort
for traders and visitors. The new space promises to be much more modern,
practical, and attractive, while remaining true to its traditional
character. The grand reopening is planned for early
2027! During the renovation work, the market will move to the Place
d’Armes, with a layout inspired by Christmas markets.

Reopening of the Exotic Garden
The
long-awaited return is near! After a lengthy hiatus, the Exotic Garden is set to wow visitors once more when it reopens to the public at the end of
the summer 2025. Perched between the sky and sea, this iconic place where a
thousand cacti and other succulent plants abound, will once more reveal its botanical
treasures and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and the Principality.
The garden, known for housing “the world’s largest collection of succulent
plants”, first opened all the way back in 1933. Work is currently being carried
out to secure the cliffside, providing a fine opportunity to restore the place
to its rightful splendour with a full refurbishment for visitors to enjoy.
A new location for the Espace Léo Ferré
An ultra-modern concert arena will become the latest addition to Monaco’s rich cultural landscape in
September 2025. Located in the Ilot Pasteur district and designed
to host all kinds of events, it will be equipped with cutting edge audiovisual
technology, making it the perfect venue for concerts, conferences,
congresses, and private events! Musicians take note: there will also be a
recording studio with all the facilities needed for novices and veterans from
Monaco and around the world to lay down their tracks in style. As has been the
case for some years, the arena will also be a focal point for cultural events
such as Monaco’s National Day.
The new Caroline Library
Another modern venue in the Ilot Pasteur area with 2,000 m² of space,
including 1,200 m² open to the public, complete with a modular auditorium
capable of hosting all manner of cultural events: these are the main
elements of the new library, due to open to locals and visitors by the end of
2025. Its name? “Caroline Library”, “a reference to Her Royal Highness the
Princess of Hanover, who supports culture in all its forms in the
Principality”, as Mayor Georges Marsan explains. And since 1 January 2025, library
subscriptions have been free for all! The initiative means anyone, whether
resident in Monaco or just visiting, can enjoy unlimited access to a wide range
of cultural and educational resources.
