The Principality is positively brimming with original gift
ideas, from drinks to decorations and jewellery. If you’re in need of some
festive inspiration, look no further!
Grab a delicious beverage “made in Monaco” to take home with you? The Brasserie de Monaco the Principality’s very own brewery, has created a special Christmas
beer that will be the perfect accompaniment to your yuletide meals. Beautifully
presented in a red box, it’s a great original gift. For lovers of newly
concocted brews, the Distillerie de Monaco makes spirits in its own alembics
from orange and carob, the fruit of the Principality’s national tree.
On the Avenue de Monte-Carlo with its pop-up Christmas chalets, you’ll
find the most elegant of souvenirs. Monte-Carlo Vermouth, available in two
versions - white and red, is a real Christmas treat for adults. The drinks are
distilled with Monaco rose.
Equally fantastic - and of course always to be consumed in moderation -
are the on-trend creations of the barmen at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo.
From the Negroni Oaked made with Vermouth and Martini for a woody flavour, to
the Manhattan New Style with whisky and Martini infused with cherry and
vanilla, the Belle Epoque offers a delectable selection of apéritifs, the
perfect way to start your evening of celebrations.
And how about a little digestive to finish? In Monaco’s old town
district, La Maison du Limoncello sells the essential eponymous liqueur and its
very own house creations made with local citrus fruits. If local
experiences are what you seek, pique your curiosity with a visit to the
Chocolaterie de Monaco, an institution founded in 1920 and the Official
Supplier of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince. Monegasque crowns, Princely rocks, and
other gianduiotti chocolates can be
purchased as gifts for friends and family.
There’s much more to Monaco Old Town than souvenir shops! It is also a
place where you’ll find numerous creative artists and shops selling wonderfully
crafted goods. One such is La Boutique du Rocher, the official store of the
Princess Grace Foundation. It specialises in babywear and linens, hand-made by
around 150 creators. Amidst the colourful, narrow streets of the Rock of Monaco
are dozens of intriguing and original little boutiques. Starting with Les
Pierres du Rocher, a shop specialising in lithotherapy that sells natural
stones and original gift ideas.
The Principality is also home to many boutiques selling clothing and
decorative items. At Monoïkos 1297 on Rue Caroline, you’ll find a wide
selection of environmentally friendly luxury goods made in Monaco, with
collections inspired by the Principality and its unique identity. Shawls, beach
towels, and candles are just some of the items available.
Monaco’s first local concept store, L’Ajoya Monte-Carlo stocks all
manner of local brands and products in its charming boutique at Monaco railway
station. Do your shopping as you sip a
coffee and wait for your train! The essence of Monegasque elegance is to be
found in its jewellery creations, at stores like APM Monaco in the Métropole
Shopping Monte-Carlo mall. Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc is now the official
face of this local jeweller, whose graceful, stylish, and modern collections
surely contain the perfect Christmas gift for that special someone.
Why not give someone a less seasonal gift this year? The Principality’s
very own Banana Moon brand sells authentic swimwear and prêt-à-porter
collections. Its vibrantly decorated boutique in the centre of Monaco offers
visitors a zesty breath of fresh air! Not far from there, Les Dessous de
Monaco’s refined and harmonious luxury lingerie collections are all handmade
exclusively at its Monegasque workshop. A personalised experience is
guaranteed. Finally, to go Red & White this Christmas, pick up a traditional
AS Monaco FC Christmas sweater in the club’s colours. Show your support this
festive season!
