The Tourist and Convention Authority is set to take part in the 8th edition of the Riviera Electric Challenge from 13 to 15 September, travelling between Cagnes-sur-Mer and Italy before finishing in the Principality!
The Principality has been synonymous with rallies for over a century. And for some years now, Monaco has been a regular fixture in the Riviera Electric Challenge (REC)! The principle of this now essential international event? To reach the finish line while using as little energy as possible! The REC is a regularity rally that promotes electric mobility by encouraging environmentally responsible driving.
This year, the Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority will be represented by two employees who have previously competed in this unique challenge: Estelle Antognelli, Head of CSR, and Claire Fissore, Head of Marketing!
The fifty or so teams aboard their electric vehicles will start from Cagnes-sur-Mer, and their first destination will be the medieval town of Dolceaqua. The following day, after a circuit in the hills above Sanremo, the participants will head for the finish line in the Principality. For this 2022 edition, the REC will follow some of the iconic routes taken by Monte-Carlo Rallies past and, to raise awareness, will cross the valleys above Nice, which were severely affected by storm Alex.
