Monaco is getting its running shoes on in preparation for No Finish Line 2023, which takes place from 11 to 19 November. A charity week where everyone can do their bit in aid of a a good cause.
It’s now a well-established tradition in the Principality. While Port Hercule twinkles with the colourful lights of the funfair, the Port of Fontvieille is decked out with a long white line, formed by the people tirelessly walking and running along the seafront and through the beautiful landscaped gardens, day and night.
A charity event created in 1999, No Finish Line Monaco has gone from strength to strength over the years. Held every November, the charity run is one of the biggest events of the autumn in the Principality.
A circuit like no other, winding between the Mediterranean Sea and the wooded gardens, and a simple concept for a noble cause: for every kilometre run (or walked) the association Children & Future Monaco donates €1 to projects in aid of sick and disadvantaged children. The event raises substantial sums every year.
It’s hugely popular with the walkers and runners who take part, and the top performers achieve some impressive results, with the highest-ranked woman clocking up over 830 km, and the all-out top runner achieving nearly 900 km in 2022!
Last year, some 10,000 participants covered a total of 251,770 km, every one of which was converted into euros! The money raised went to 25 charity associations selected by Children & Future and working in Monaco, France, Asia, and Africa.
