The magic of Christmas enchants the Principality!

The magic of Christmas is enchanting the Principality, nestling between the Mediterranean and the mountains, as the festive season is now upon us with the opening of the Christmas Village on 2 December at Port Hercule and the switching-on of the Christmas illuminations in the city. 

The Christmas market has featured a different decorative theme every year since 2000, and this year's is inspired by the explorer prince Albert I and "Christmas in Spitebergen"! 

Take a trip to the Arctic Circle without leaving Monaco, thanks to the Christmas tree carousel, toboggan slide, reindeer ride, concerts, parades and craft workshops.

The traditional big wheel is also back this year, while the "Roller Station" makes its debut. The roller skating rink is taking the place of the usual ice rink at Port Hercule, for environmental reasons. It will remain open until 26 February 2023. So get your skates on!  

The Principality's hotels are also dressing up specially for Christmas! Don't miss the incredible fairy-tale decorations, that are sure to delight all ages. Awaken your inner child as you admire the glittering tree at the Hôtel de Paris, dream of magical characters at the Hôtel Fairmont, and visit the Métropole with its Christmas travel themed decorations that will transport you back to your childhood. 

As the festive period approaches, Monaco's illuminations are setting the Riviera aglow in style. Marvel at the thousands of sparkling lights and the snow-covered trees adorning the Place du Casino. All around, a roller skating rink winds between the pines. Take a moment to admire this iconic square and stop by the chalet of the Café de Paris for a crepe or a waffle, as you listen to the choir sing carols. 

The magic continues on the patio of the Hôtel de Paris with its Christmas Garden. A haven of luxury and tradition, delights and surprises, creative and culinary activities for all ages. This year's festivities are guaranteed to sparkle.

And don't forget the most important thing of all… the gifts! 

Where can you post a letter to Santa?  
That's child's play! Drop off your letter in any mailbox around the Principality, and remember to mark it "Père Noël - Monaco" to ensure it reaches his team of elves. If you send yours before 23 December, you'll receive a reply from Santa himself!
Head to the Place du Casino, the Hôtel Métropole or the Métropole shopping center to whisper your wish list into the ear of Santa in person, for an unforgettable moment!
