Lecture - "Authors Satisfy our Deep Aspiration for Justice"
Monday 17 April 2023, at 6.30 pm, Théâtre des Variétés
Throughout history, many authors have joined the fight for justice. Voltaire, Balzac, Victor Hugo, Zola, and Mauriac all devoted their energies to defending the innocent. But more widely, writers' stories satisfy another human aspiration: the desire for a more just world. Maupassant, Balzac, and Tolstoy sought to defend natural law, the law to which individuals aspire, against the social law imposed by the ukases.

Lecture - "Writing with Animals"
Monday 5 June 2023, at 6.30 pm, Théâtre des Variétés
Philosophers - of whom I am one - are in the habit of presenting their ideas. Most of them are versed in the art of talking: giving lectures, addressing conferences, and speaking in public. Most of them also writing, publish articles and books. But in recent years, I have tried a different way of presenting certain ideas that go to the heart of my work. I was keen to present those ideas through "exhibitions", in institutions that are not academic but museal. Yet I am neither an art historian nor a specialist in aesthetics, and certainly no curator. Nothing had prepared me for it. Organised by the Prince Pierre Foundation.

Conversation - "Justice"
Thursday 13 April 2023, from 7 pm to 9 pm, Théâtre Princesse Grace
Two school pupils commit the same offence. But their teacher punishes only one and lets the other off, as he just happens to be his nephew. Nobody could fail to see the unfairness. But is there truly a human feeling that enables us to recognise justice and injustice? And if such a feeling exists, is it innate? Or is it shaped by social mores, varying according to era or society? Does justice not have objectively identifiable traits? What is certain is that in all the history of philosophy, thinkers have sought as much to define it as to find arguments showing the very exercise to be impossible. Organised by Les Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco. With the participation of students and teachers from the Institution François d’Assise - Nicolas Barré and the Lycée Albert 1er de Monaco.

The musician began his career with legendary group Marquis de Sade and went on to collaborate with Etienne Daho, Brigitte Fontaine, and Jacno. Françoise Sagan said "Arnold Turboust has something of the fluidity of Trenet, the detachment of Gainsbourg, a kind of gentle indulgence towards others, but demanding of himself; a humour without cynicism and the most pleasing musical diversity".
