Exhibition - "The Early Days of Télé Monte-Carlo, 1954-1974​"

The Cabinet of Curiosities - "The Early Days of Télé Monte-Carlo, 1954-1974​" - An exhibition looking at the first 20 years of Monaco's TV channel launched in 1954. A selection of archives and objects will take you back in time, to the very earliest days of colour television. Organised by the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco, the exhibition features items entrusted by Télé Monte-Carlo for safekeeping, documents from partner institutions, and materials kindly loaned by private individuals.

Screening - "Télé Monte-Carlo's Monegasque News Reels"
Wednesday 17 July 2024, at 6.30 pm, Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco
Screening followed by a guided tour of the exhibition about the early days of TMC. While much of the footage shot by Télé Monte-Carlo has been lost, the clips that survive tell a fascinating story of Monegasque life from the 1950s to the early 1970s.

Screening - "Muza"
Wednesday 23 October 2024, at 8 pm, Auditorium Rainier III
Screening of the film "Muza" (piano muse), with Lithuanian pianist Mūza Rubackytė attending in person. Mūza's is a tale of triumph over adversity, as the gifted musician's youthful hopes and dreams were once shackled by the airless, stifling environment of the Soviet regime. She talks about what freedom, love and calling mean to her, and the price she paid for revealing her talent to the world. Documentary with French subtitles. Evening organised by Monaco Baltic States.
