Catholicism is the official state religion of the Principality of Monaco. This cathedral-themed itinerary visits the main churches in Monaco, including the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate, where Rainier III and Grace Kelly were married.

Saint-Charles Church

This impressive Renaissance-style building with its 30-metre tall bell tower was inaugurated in 1883.

Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate

This Roman-Byzantine style building was constructed in 1875 using white stone from La Turbie. It houses the tombs of Monaco’s former Princes. Inside, alongside the magnificent high altar and the Episcopal throne made from white Carrara marble, stands a retable by the Niçois painter Louis Bréa, which dates from the year 1500.
