For the second successive year, the Principality of Monaco is participating in European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) between 21 and 29 November 2020. Owing to the health situation, the event will be largely "virtual".
The aim of EWWR is to highlight awareness-raising actions about sustainable resource and waste management in European and non-European countries, over a single week in November.
In Monaco, private and public sector organisations - under the direction of the Environment Department - will be proposing a week of awareness-raising actions about the importance of reducing waste, with activities focusing on the "3R" approach, "Reduce, Re-use, Recycle" and invisible waste. Altogether, 36 actions have been identified in the Principality!
For example, during EWWR week, the Tourist and Convention Authority will be publishing information about how to travel sustainably. Between 23 and 28 November, an initiative will be shared on social media. At the end of the week, the complete sustainable traveller's guide will be published in the "Green" section of the official website.
EWWR is also about eco-challenges, exhibitions of drawings and designs, tutorials on zero waste, reductions in crtain supermarkets, and many more activities…
EWWR 2020 is a packed week of actions and initiatives for all.
