Publication date: 09/05/2019
The Monaco Stamp Office is to release three official new stamps on the following themes: the 36th Conference of the Francophonie, the cyclist Fausto Coppi, and the Women's Football World Cup

The new stamps will be available from the Stamp Office, the Museum of Stamps and Coins, post offices, and stamp desks in the Principality, but also at the Carré d’Encre, the French Post Office's museum in Paris.

The first stamp (costing  86 centimes) is dedicated to the 36th Ministerial Conference of the Francophonie, to be held on 30 and 31 October in Monaco on the theme "Reconciling humanity and the planet: prospects for the Francophone world ahead of the 50th anniversary of the International Organisation of the Francophonie".

The second stamp (costing 86 centimes) pays tribute to Italian cyclist Fausto Coppi. Born in 1919, he was the first cyclist to win both the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia, in 1949. He repeated the feat three years later, when Monaco was a city-stage on the Tour de France. Fausto Coppi, who died in 1960, is considered one of the greatest cyclists in history.

The last of the new stamps (costing €1.05) marks the Women's Football World Cup, which will take place in France from 7 June to 7 July 2019. The Parc des Princes stadium will host he opening game (France – Republic of Korea). Altogether, nine cities will host the twenty-four countries involved: Grenoble, Le Havre, Lyon, Montpellier, Nice, Paris, Reims, Rennes and Valenciennes.
