The Rose Ball

The 69th annual Rose Ball will take place on Saturday 29 March, in aid of the Princess Grace Foundation. With host Stéphane Bern.

A sunset-themed Caribbean evening

The 69th Rose Ball will be one of the highlights of the spring calendar in Monaco. On Saturday 29 March, the illustrious Salle des Étoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo will be transformed into a Caribbean paradise for the “Sunset Ball” specially created by Christian Louboutin, the acclaimed designer who has once again been entrusted with envisioning the event by H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover.

Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, this very special evening will be hosted by Stéphane Bern, and promises a spellbinding immersion in the festive atmosphere of the Caribbean.

Guests will discover the sumptuously decorated Salle des Étoiles turned into a lush  rainforest, generously adorned with roses and exotic flowers, complete with an authentic beach café, the Monaco Sunset Bar, where they savour the feel of the sand beneath their feet at the watch the sun set.  The entertainment promises to be as sensational as the rest of the Ball, with choreographer Blanca Li, the iconic Ebony Steel Band, and the women’s collective from Guadeloupe Kozéika Panam, while the headline act will be the fantastic EARTH, WIND & FIRE Experience by Al McKay. All proceeds from this prestigious event will be donated to the Princess Grace Foundation.

A little history...

Created in 1954, this annual event takes place every March in the prestigious Salle des Etoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo.  In 1964, on the wishes of Princess Grace of Monaco and following the creation of the Foundation that bears her name, the Rose Ball became a charity event.

The glamorous gathering of the international high society illuminates the Principality with glitz and sparkle for an evening of festivities.
The Bal de la Rose is a symbol of razzle-dazzle and maintains the fascinating legend of Monte-Carlo that it helped to forge.  The aura is such that it attracts many people who wish to be part of the dream and enchantment of Monaco.

Tradition and innovation...

A radiant spectacle in a fabulous decor, the Rose Ball has a different theme each year with artists and new trends. Big names help organise the creative aspects of the event, such as Karl Lagerfeld and more recently Christian Louboutin, choosing the theme of the evening (Havana, the Viennese Secession, Manhattan or Les Années Folles), the floral decoration, and the dinner, always with the approval of H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, in an atmosphere of pomp and sparkle with an almost surreal dimension.

Glamour and generosity...

The Ball is not just a social event or another excuse for a party.  It is first and foremost an internationally recognised charity event with all proceeds and other exceptional prizes (sculptures, paintings etc.) going to the Princess Grace Foundation since 1964. The Foundation’s vocation is to help people and children in need by developing humanitarian and philanthropic projects.
