There’s a true love story growing between
Monaco and stand-up, with more and more fantastic comedians performing at
venues across the Principality. From the Grimaldi Forum to hotels and
restaurants, there are big laughs wherever you look!
Artus at the Grimaldi Forum – 11 January
Following
the success of his film “Un ptit truc en plus” (“Just One More Thing”) in
France, popular comedian Artus will be on stage at the Grimaldi Forum in
the Principality on Saturday 11 January. And as he made quite clear on
his tour, he won’t be pushing the boundaries... because he doesn’t have any!
Stand-Up
Monaco at the Grimaldi Forum – 13 January
Monaco’s
leading cultural venue is going all out for laughs this month as just
two days later the Grimaldi Forum will
host a unique comedy club: Stand-up Monaco. Spectators
can look forward to a side-splitting evening of fresh comedy with
performances by Gad Elmaleh and special guests Roman Frayssinet,
Lise de Hurt, Marine Leonardi, Pablo Caillot, and Sébastien Mei.
T’Choup Comedy Club at La Note Bleue – 23 January
The
T’Choup Comedy Club at La Note Bleue, is
a magical place at the Larvotto that regularly hosts great comics
as they perform their routines against the stunning backdrop of the Mediterranean.
Enjoy dinner followed by an hour of stand-up! The next evening will be on 23
January.
Stand-up Comedy Show at Huit et
Demi – 23 January
In Monaco,
you can even find fantastic stand-up in the restaurants! After three hugely
successful dates in the last two months, Huit et Demi is
planning three more comedy nights. You’ll find it on Rue Caroline in the heart
of the Principality. The next dates are 23 January, and 6 and 20
February.
Smakelijk! Comedy Club at the Méridien Beach Plaza – 14 and 15 February
A
Belgian brasserie with a generous helping of Belgian humour makes
for the perfect combo! Smakelijk!, the restaurant at the Méridien Beach
Plaza, hosts evenings up stand-up featuring comics from the low countries.
Coming soon to the Smakelijk! Comedy Club will
be Alex Vizorek, mainstay of the Belgian comedy scene and already well-known to
French audiences. He’ll be sharing the stage with Thomas Sii and Adrien
Montowski.
New Moods – 13 March
New
Moods, the venue that hosted magical musical nights from 2008 to 2011,
re-opened at the end of last year. A plush, intimate nightspot, New Moods is
the place to go for live music and DJ sets, plus evenings of stand-up comedy.
After Hassan de Monaco in December, the next comic to grace the stage will be
Tareek, who will be performing on Thursday 13 March!
Les Sérénissimes de l’Humour –
from
12 to 15 March
Every
March for the last 19 years, the crème de la crème of stand-up has come
together on the stage of the Grimaldi Forum for the Sérénissimes de l’Humour. Under
the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the comedy festival will host an exciting line-up of comics and actors.
Philippe
Lellouche, Michel Boujenah and Bun Hay Mean will be performing on 12, 13, and
15 March respectively. In keeping with recent years, the evening of 14 March
will be devoted to up and coming talents. Anne Cahen, Edouard Deloignon,
Nicolas Lacroix, Sulo and Malik Farè will all take turns with the mic for an
hour and twenty minutes of nothing but laughs.
