Exhibition - "The Early Days of Télé Monte-Carlo, 1954-1974​"
From Monday 25 March 2024 to Friday 31 January 2025, from 10 am to 5.30 pm (5 pm on Fridays), Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco
The Cabinet of Curiosities - "The Early Days of Télé Monte-Carlo, 1954-1974​" - An exhibition looking at the first 20 years of Monaco's TV channel launched in 1954. A selection of archives and objects will take you back in time, to the very earliest days of colour television. Organised by the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco, the exhibition features items entrusted by Télé Monte-Carlo for safekeeping, documents from partner institutions, and materials kindly loaned by private individuals.

Exhibition - "Francisco Tropa - Paesine"
From Friday 6 December 2024 to Monday 21 April 2025, Nouveau Musée National de Monaco - Villa Paloma
The exhibition takes its name from "pietre paesine", ruined marble, whose geological markings are reminiscent of painted landscapes, on the boundary between figuration and abstraction. This analogy of nature and technique is a central theme in the work of Francisco Tropa, which focuses on the way in which an image appears and is perceived.

Charity - "5th Fight Aids Cup"

Every year, during the Festival international du cirque de Monte-Carlo, the Principality hosts the Fight Aids Cup. The charity football match, organised under the high patronage of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, raise awareness and support the fight against HIV/AIDS. Exhibition - "Agora, the Place of the Museum"

Back in 2015, the NMNM debited its first ever LAB giving visitors a glimpse "behind the scenes of the museum". Then in 2018, five guest artists were invited to produce their own musings on the very meaning of the museum itself. In 2025, as the Villa Sauber prepares to undergo a radical transformation, the NMNM is giving pride of place to its public-facing programmes, where the focus is on artists and promoting a wider sharing of art appreciation.

Traditions - "Saint Devota's Day Celebration"
Sunday 26 January 2025, at 6 pm, Quai Albert Ier
As part of celebrations marking Saint Devota's Day, members of the public are invited to watch the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament from a secure area on the concourse of the Place Sainte-Dévote, where the ceremony will be shown live on a big screen. Corsican singers will perform at the beginning of the evening. Spectators can then move to a specially designated area on Quai Albert Ier, to see the symbolic boat burning. Afterwards, an eight-minute drone show will light up the skies, illustrating some of the key moments in Saint Devota's life.

Just three days after the climax of the WRC event, the focus will shift to the 27th Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique. In keeping with tradition, the competitors given the green light to start the rally will be faced with a highly demanding route featuring some of the historic special stages that forged the legend of the "Monte-Carlo". This classic version of the rally is reserved for cars that raced in Monte-Carlo Rallies between 1911 and 1983.

In a daydream, a decidedly chipper saviour of France takes Macron to task. Perhaps the great De Gaulle has some answers? Some advice to offer? Or maybe some criticisms? "So, young man, how fares France today, the vast world, the English, the Chinese, the Americans? And the people of France, have you told them you understand what they were telling you?" This Voltarian tale looks at what has changed in the last five decades, and asks whether there can still be a meaningful dialogue between our present and our recent past, the age before globalisation and smartphones.

Lecture - "What stone tools tell us about prehistoric humans’ cognition”

For her doctoral thesis, Svetlana KULESHOVA is combining the study of prehistory and linguistics to gain a better understanding of how language has evolved. By applying archaeological methods to linguistic evolution and studying stone artefacts, she is looking at how the cognitive abilities of prehistoric humans developed. There are rabbits appearing all around us, even in the parks and gardens of our beloved capital. But where are they coming from? Is this the latest manifestation of climate change? A sign of inexorable evolution at work? Former geographer Frédéric Ferrer attempts to answer these huge questions in the seventh part of his series of partly tongue-in-cheek lectures, begun in 2010. Accompanied by comedian Hélène Schwartz, he plunges into an all-encompassing investigation, with diagrams, equations, medieval engravings, and cuddly toys. A caustic masterclass that's as entertaining as it is enlightening.

Formed barely a year ago, Franco-British outfit DEAD CHIC have already made a name for themselves and are attracting plenty of attention, with a hit single (“Too Far Gone”) and a live EP (“Bastion Session”). Described by Rolling Stone France as “a mixture of heavy rock and soul, cinematic and orchestrated with brio”, the band is a real surprise package that has won over fans, playing to big crowds at the opening of the Levitation Festival and at Cognac Blues Passion. A delightfully dark and cruel comedy. André Bitos is a working class boy who grew up to become a state prosecutor, embarking on a reign of terror in the days following the liberation of France. Returning to his hometown in provincial France, he is invited by his old classmates - now members of high society - to a special dinner at which every guest is expected to come as a figure from the French Revolutionary. Bitos goes as Robespierre. But the evening is a trap. In a recreation of the revolutionary Terror and Purification, Bitos will be plied with drink before revealing the "Imposter" beneath the mask of the "Incorruptible", humiliating him and bringing his career to an ignominious end.

This show featuring real actors and puppets takes us aboard the Nautilus, Captain Nemo's legendary submarine resembling half sea monster, and half cutting edge technological wonder. All the famous characters from Jules Verne's classic novel are here, from Professor Aronnax and his loyal servant Conseil who, before becoming shipwrecked and being taken prisoner by Nemo, had gone hunting for the giant narwhal aboard the US Navy frigate Abraham Lincoln, alongside harpooner Ned Land. Captain Nemo, a true modern pirate, forces them to sail with him on a voyage across the world's oceans, where scientific experiments mingle with the poetry of the deep. The actors, accompanied by a troupe of fish, invite us to join them in an expedition to explore the classic literary masterpiece.

The Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo 2025 Festival will celebrate the centenary of Pierre Boulez, a leading figure in the world of contemporary music, who pioneering work and worldwide influence will be explored through a series of concerts, screenings, and performances. The Festival will also showcase the artistic connections between Boulez and painter Francis Bacon. Six of Bacon's paintings, created around the time the two men met in Paris, illustrate the themes of human fragility and time and reflect on the ways in which music and painting each inspire the other. The dialogue between two of the 20th century's great cultural geniuses is a unique immersion in their artistic world.

L’organiste Éric Lebrun ouvre les portes d’un jardin secret boulézien : la musique anglaise des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles. Au premier âge d’or des années 1620, d’une incroyable diversité, répond un siècle plus tard l’art effervescent de Georg Friedrich Haendel, un des rares compositeurs baroques enregistrés par Boulez.

L’édition 2025 du Printemps des Arts se conclut sans se clôturer, avec deux œuvres qui aspirent à l’éternité et à l’atemporalité, le Trio de Maurice Ravel et le vertigineux Quatuor pour la fin du Temps d’Olivier Messiaen. Pour ce point d’orgue finale d’une édition-hommage à Pierre Boulez, la jeunesse talentueuse du Trio Pantoum et d’Ann Lepage vient rappeler que le chef et compositeur était par-dessus tout soucieux de transmettre le flambeau aux générations suivantes.
