Once again this year, this exceptional event promises to live up to its
lofty reputation with a prestige line-up of performers. Altogether, jazz fans
can look forward to eleven concerts and some unforgettable evenings. So who can
you expect to see this year? Brace yourself! Ron Carter with a special guest

Jeanne Added, Alex Jaffray with “Le son d’Alex”, not to mention Pianoforte,
Kareen Giock Thuram, Thomas de Pourquery, Keziah Jones, Incognito, Léon Phal
and Dominique Fils-Aimé, who will be joining Ibrahim Maalouf on stage.
There’s an extra treat for cinema fans too, with a special screening of
Clint Eastwood’s “Bird” at the Opéra Garnier on 17 November, in partnership
with the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco! The multi-award winning biopic tells
the story of legendary saxophonist Charlie Parker.
Reflecting its commitment to bringing the joy of jazz to a wider
audience and playing a big part in the cultural life of the Principality, the
Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival will also include a Jazz & Modern Music concert
on 21 November, featuring talented young artists from the Rainier III Academy.
The varied programme, encompassing everything from jazz to pop with new
interpretations of well-known classics, will be a once-in-a-lifetime chance for
around thirty students to perform in a professional setting at the prestigious
Opéra Garnier.
And throughout the Festival, there will be even more jazz music to enjoy
with “Before” sessions at the Crystal Bar of the Hôtel Hermitage, and “Afters”
at the Café de la Rotonde of the Casino Monte-Carlo.
