"Top of the Range" Exhibition at the Métropole Shopping Centre, Monte-Carlo
The artist Cipre is exhibiting his sculptures from 23 June to 6 September 2014
For more than seven years, the Métropole Shopping Centre in Monaco has been transforming its corridors into exhibition areas.
This year, it is showcasing the sculptor Cipre, who is presenting "Top of the Range" ("Haut de Gamme"), an impressive selection of sculptures.
Cipre was born in Paris in 1968 to a family from Nice and was inspired by the new realists.
As an essential principle of communication, he makes use of a language that focuses on an omnipresent and obsessive system of overconsumption.
Love, peace and dreams occupy a major place in his work, expressed in various media that evoke industrialisation.
His signature style is reflected in straps, pallets and supermarket trolleys, which represent marketing that is continuous and almost bewildering.
